The Open Innovation Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Development and Testing Platform Project, “OPINA,” started June, 2020.
The project is funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Programme and will be executed by Istanbul OKAN University for three years.
OPINA is an open innovation software development and testing cluster, which provides its users with a development platform. OPINA aims to be the leader in the development of autonomous vehicle software at national and international levels by ensuring intensive collaboration and communication and by supporting its members in the development, integration, prototyping and testing of their connected and autonomous vehicle software.
Moreover OPINA will also provide services to its platform members, such as training, mentoring, and collaboration with international and strategic partners, clusters and platforms related to Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAEVS) as well as Smart and Clean Mobility (SCM).
The potential beneficiaries of the project are those who are active in the field of intelligent and communicating vehicles, such as SMEs, R&D companies, Start-Ups, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), software developers, automotive suppliers, electronics manufacturers, universities and sectoral NGOs.
